Sustainability

Projects should be created in a way that minimizes their environmental impact.

NGOs usually only have a small budget to work with. If your festival has values like sustainability, fair production and environmental protection, and you expect that from the NGOs in terms of merch and giveaways, give them help early on. Where can they get sustainable giveaways or roll-ups produced relatively cheaply?

There are great resources out there that can teach you more about sustainability at festivals. For example:

● Future Festival Tools. Self-assessment tool for festivals, e-learning course, inspirational story guide on sustainable festivals: https://www.futurefestivaltools.eu/  and VET trainers' handbook:
● Educational resources by activist group Music Declares Emergency (MDE): https://www.musicdeclares.net/assets/documents/pdfs/MDE-MUSIC-INDUSTRY-CLIMATE-PACK.pdf
● Resources by the Green Deal Circular Festivals project: https://www.circularfestivals.nl/default.aspx
● Resources by the Canadian project Green Festivals: https://greenfestivals.ca/
